YOUR BROADCASTER TOUR

Getting on Air

Be good at what you do. Be yourself. Let’s help people hear you—and give them a way to show you some love.

Start my introduction
A COMMUNITY THAT BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER

You don’t have to work it out alone.

We’re here to make broadcasting welcoming and workable. Our events encourage connection, creativity and a positive shared experience. Listeners can listen and send hearts without giving us a name or email. Broadcasters provide only the private details needed to arrange access, support and payment.

Allow about five minutes for your introduction. Email confirmation, approval and a sound check come next; airtime is arranged with your producer.

01

Your voice. Your kind of programme.

Play music, tell stories, share a conversation or help a roving reporter bring a live event to listeners. Broadcast from home or another location with a dependable connection. Start with a microphone and headphones; your setup can grow with you.

02

One place to listen, wherever people are

Airstreaming brings broadcasts into a shared listening experience on CharacterDriven.live. People can keep listening while exploring creators and events. Invite your friends and reach people beyond your own community—building an audience takes time, and we’ll help you make those connections.

03

Let people show you some love

Hearts are free virtual applause. Tips give listeners another way to appreciate your work. We want your talent to be supported, and we can arrange your payout privately, including discussing options outside Canada. Tips are voluntary, so earnings aren’t guaranteed.

04

Get comfortable before the microphone opens

Your Pre-Show is the waiting and preparation room. Test your microphone, get your playlist ready, listen to the station and check in with the producer. Preparing here does not put you on air.

05

You have people beside you

A producer can help with your sound, timing, guests and event coverage. Broadcasters, performers and roving reporters can bring people together across locations. You can begin at the level that feels comfortable and learn as you go.

06

A Studio door that respects your airtime

After approval, sign in with your own password. The producer’s invitation, your scheduled time or an approved open period opens a vacant Studio. Another broadcaster cannot take over an occupied booth through normal entry; the producer and administrator retain their working controls. Your recovery PIN is for requesting help if you lose your password.

A little space of your own

Your public Host profile can share your bio and a link under your on-air name. Ask us about linking a TipsOkay page for continuing support, or a page offering your work for purchase. Your account and payment details remain private.

Bring the event into the room

Events can include live audio, video links and participation from people on location. Worldwide jams bring remote guests into the experience. Multicamera video is in beta, with a producer and up to three other cameras planned; arrange video participation with your producer.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Confirm. Settle in. Get ready.

First, confirm your account email using the link in your confirmation message. Next, an administrator approves your request and a second email sends your temporary password. Sign in with that password, choose your own permanent password, then set your recovery PIN. You choose the PIN yourself; it is never emailed. Now you can prepare in the Pre-Show with your producer.

Ask for help

Your next steps

  1. Confirm your email. Use the link in the first email.
  2. Wait for approval. An administrator reviews your introduction as soon as possible. We may ask for more information or arrange a phone or video call. Your second email arrives after approval and includes a temporary password.
  3. Sign in. Enter your account email and that temporary password. Your email alone does not sign you in.
  4. Choose your permanent password. Enter it twice and save it.
  5. Choose your recovery PIN. Enter 6–12 digits twice and save. You choose this PIN yourself; it is not emailed.

Then open your Pre-Show to prepare. Try the Studio door: a producer invitation, your scheduled time or an approved open period can let you in when it is vacant.
